SSR is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Nash Correctional Institution and are proudly participating in their 'A New Leash On Life' prison training program. Sharpie is one of our foster dogs that completed training and he graduated on April 10, 2009. During his time at Nash, Sharpie learned sit, shake with both paws, down and rollover. He had fun with the agility course, which includes walking the bench, climbing an A-Frame, jumping through a tire, placing on a pedestal and then doing his sit, shakes and down. Name: SharpieSex: Male Approx. DOB: August 2006 Weight: Approx. 40 lbs. Coat Color: Bi-Eyed, One brown and one blue Energy Level: Medium. Sharpie will run and play with the other dogs in his foster home but does have a tendency to go off and sniff and smell everything by himself. Personality: Very affectionate when he wants to be! He is sweet and loveable and loves belly rubs but also loves to playbow to his people and play cat and mouse when he is playful. Sharpie is house trained but was not as that is how he got his name! He is crate trained but has busted out on a couple of occasions. Sharpie is a good boy but has had his run-ins with other male dogs so the right home may be as an only dog or with a female canine playmate. Good with Dogs: Yes but not necessarily a good match for another male. Good with Cats: NO. Good with Children: Probably but has not been around them in our program. Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes Rides Well in Car: Yes Leash Trained: Does pretty well on leash with not much pulling. Basic Obedience: Knows sit, shake, down and roll over. All Southern Siberian Rescue foster dogs are microchipped, up to date on shots, spay/neutered and on monthly heartworm preventative.
