Name: Joy
Sex: Female
Approx. DOB: June 2007
Weight: Approx. 52 lbs.
Coat Color: Gray and White
Eye Color: Brown
Energy Level: Medium. Joy is a pretty laid back, docile girl. She can kick up her heels and play some but settles down nicely.
Personality: Joy is an absolute doll baby to have at the house. She loves to chew on Nylabones and is just about perfect. She can be a bit mischievous sometimes, ie knocking coffee off the counter or eating pasta out of a pan on the stove, but overall you barely know she's in the house. She has full house privileges as she is not destructive. She normally curls up in the kitchen during the day and the dresser at night. Now, she would love to be a bed dog but there is no space for her in her foster home for that.
Good with Dogs: Yes. I don't know that Joy has ever had a disagreement with any of the dogs in her foster home. She will do great as an only dog or with canine siblings.
Good with Cats: Not tested yet but Siberians are notorious for their high prey drive and typically kill cats, rabbits, chickens, birds, squirrels, etc.
Good with Children: She has not been around them in her foster home but would most likely do fantastic.
Housetrained: Not quite yet but is close. Joy does still have accidents in the house during the day. Sometimes her Foster Mom can't get her outside quick enough but overall, she is doing great.
Crate Trained: Joy does crate well but is not currently crated in her Foster Home.
Rides Well in Car: Yes
Leash Trained: She actually does pretty well on leash!
Basic Obedience: Joy does know sit and has good house manners other than the periodic counter surfing.
Joy has tested positive for heartworms and will complete her treatment prior to being adopted. She will begin treatment on or about June 22, 2009. If you would like to help this young lady get healthy and find her second chance at life, please visit us at How to Help to learn how to make donations.
