Siberian Husky (medium coat) : : Male : : Young : : Medium
SSR is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Nash Correctional Institution and are proudly participating in their 'A New Leash On Life' prison training program. Ollie is one of our foster dogs that completed training and he graduated on January 12, 2010. During his time at Nash, Ollie learned sit, shake with both paws, down and rollover. He had fun with the agility course, which includes walking the bench, climbing an A-Frame, jumping through a tire, placing on a pedestal and then doing his sit, shakes and down.
Sex: Male Approx. DOB: January 2009 Weight: Approx. 40 lbs. Coat Color: All White Eye Color: Blue Energy Level: Medium to High. Ollie is a most spunky boy and loves to run and play with the other dogs in his foster home. Personality: Ollie came to us from a seizure situation in Orangeburg, SC. He was very underweight but has fattened up nicely. Although he weighs about 40 lbs, he is very short for the breed but that doesn't matter to him because he is just happy to be alive. Ollie has much energy and scoots and skirts all over the house. Fortunately, he does take time to settle down and chew on a Nylabone or relax in his crate. He loves attention and bettly rubs and will always take time out of his day to give kisses! Ollie will most likely do best in a home with another canine companion to use up some of his energy but will do well in as an only dog as long as it's an active household. Good with Dogs: Yes and very playful. Good with Cats: Ollie has not been tested with cats but all the other Orangeburg dogs do fine with cats so would be willing to entertain a home with a cat for him. Siberians are notorious for their high prey drive and typically kill cats, rabbits, birds, chickens, squirrels, opossums, etc. Good with Children: Ollie is pretty bouncy and does still jump up when he meets new people so he may do better in a home without newborns and toddlers. Siberians are typically good with children of all ages and the only reason we would not list them as not good with kids is because they may be too energetic and bouncy and knock over a toddler. Housetrained: Yes. Crate Trained: Yes but also has house privileges as he is not destructive and can be trusted out and about the house. Rides Well in Car: Yes Leash Trained: Does pretty well on leash with not much pulling. Basic Obedience: Ollie does know sit, shake and down. More about OllieGood with Dogs, Good with Kids
