Siberian Husky (medium coat) : : Male : : Young : : Medium
Name: Santos Sex: Male Approx. DOB: July 2007 Weight: Approx. 45 lbs. Coat Color: Red and White Eye Color: Blue Energy Level: Medium, loves to play with the other dogs in his foster home but also kicks back and relaxes. Personality: Santos came to us from a seizure/hoarding situation in SC and he is blind. That doesn't stop him from enjoying life one bit however. He loves attention, pets and loving and gives kisses and is very snuggly. He has learned the house and has no problems getting around. He has learned things as "step" to go out the back door and will come running when called to come back inside. He does enjoy being outside and sniffs and plays just as the other fosters do but will stretch out and enjoy a good nap as well. He enjoys quiet time in a crate when he's inside but is not crated. He has full reign of his foster home becasue he is house trained. He does like to chew on wood though, ie bookshelf in the bedroom and a table in the dining room. He will pick up Nylabones and chew on them as well. Santos will do great in a home as an only dog or with a play mate. He certainly plays with the other dogs in his foster home often and will enjoy the companionship. Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested but probably not as Siberians are notorious for their high prey drive and typically kill cats, rabbits, birds, squirrels, opossums, etc. Good with Children: Siberians are typically good with children of all ages and the only reason we would not list them as not good with kids is because they may be too energetic and bouncy and knock over a toddler. Housetrained: Yes Crate Trained: Yes but is not crated in his foster home. He does love to walk in an open crate and take a nap. Rides Well in Car: Yes Leash Trained: Does pretty well on leash with not much pulling
Basic Obedience:
Santos knows sit and is working on other basic commands. His foster Mom is working with him on que's to help him maneuver the house.
