Siberian Husky (medium coat) : : Male : : Young : : Medium
SSR is pleased to announce that we are partnering with Nash Correctional Institution and are proudly participating in their 'A New Leash On Life' prison training program. Dusty is one of our foster dogs that completed training and he graduated on February 5, 2009. During his time at Nash, Dusty learned sit, shake with both paws, down and rollover. He had fun with the agility course, which includes walking the bench, climbing an A-Frame, jumping through a tire, placing on a pedestal and then doing his sit, shakes and down. Name: Dusty Sex: Male Approx. DOB: January 2008 Weight: Approx. 60 lbs. Coat Color: Dilute Black and white Eye Color: Brown Energy Level: Medium, loves to romp and play with the other dogs in his foster home whether he's invited or not! Personality: Dusty is very affectionate, sweet and loveable. He is rather submissive and sometimes does submissive pee. He can be mischievous at times, sneaking things he's not supposed to, getting in the trash and counter surfing. He does do a lot of jumping up on people too. He will go as far as wrapping his front legs around your legs - giving you a big ole hug! All of these are reasons he participated in our prison training program. Dusty does love his people and sometimes can be very needy and clingy. He will bask in all the loving and attention you can give him. He is a very sweet boy and will do best in a home with another canine sibling. His Foster Mom doesn't think he will be a good only dog as he needs company. Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Not tested yet Good with Children: Yes Housetrained: Dusty had accidents in his Foster Home when he first came to us but has come a long way and appears house trained now. As mentioned previously, he may do some submissive peeing when he meets new people or gets excited. Crate Trained: Yes but he has busted out on a couple of occasions. Not recently however. Rides Well in Car: Yes Leash Trained: Does pretty well on leash with not much pulling. He tends to go down on his belly and sometimes you have to coax him along. Basic Obedience: Knows sit, down, shake and rollover. All Southern Siberian Rescue foster dogs are microchipped, up to date on shots, spay/neutered and on monthly heartworm preventative.
